On 5th October 2023, the latest edition of The Legal 500 UK was published and Renaissance Legal has maintained its position as a leading firm in Sussex, Kent and Surrey for Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate work.

The editorial comments included the following feedback:

‘Renaissance is a leader in its field and has expanded over time. The high level of knowledge, professionalism and care which is provided is exceptional. Each branch of the firm works closely together and this makes the team as a whole very cohesive in how they work with clients.’

In addition to the firm-wide ranking, Managing Director Philip Warford was once again singled out as a leading individual in the region, being described as an ‘outstanding lawyer’. His fellow lawyers Katherine Miller and Gina Cucciniello and were both named as recommended lawyers.

Renaissance Legal joins only three other firms in the Brighton and the surrounding area to achieve top-tier recognition in the UK-wide publication.

Philip Warford has also been ranked as a leading expert, where rankings are based on an in-depth review of the private client sector by a dedicated and experienced team of researchers. He is described by clients as having “such a unique and expansive breadth of knowledge, compassion and professionalism in the area of disability. He is irreplaceable. I cannot praise or recommend him highly enough.”

The team’s success in The Legal 500 UK follows legal directory success earlier in the year. In July, independent legal directory Chambers & Partners launched the 2024 edition of its High Net Worth Guide in which both the firm and Philip Warford retained their position as leading experts for their work in advising families and vulnerable clients for another consecutive year.

Achieving both firm and individual lawyer recognition across these two prestigious guides is a significant achievement. The research is independent, rigorous and takes in feedback from clients, fellow lawyers, barristers and other professionals.

Philip Warford says:

“I’m enormously proud of the team for maintaining its position as a leading firm in the South East region in both Chambers and Legal 500. The specialist nature of our work, in particular advising disabled and vulnerable individuals and their families, means that we can’t easily be compared with other law firms. It’s wonderful to see our team recognised for its quality alongside much larger, key-player law firms in the region.

I’m particularly thrilled with this year’s Legal 500 commentary which acknowledges the care we take to ensure our different experts work closely together for the benefit of our clients. As the Renaissance Group expands further, being able to offer a holistic range of services – not just legal, but financial, Trust-based work and welfare benefits too – means families can plan for and safeguard their loved ones’ future with support from a dedicated team who understand their needs, all under one roof”.
