Back in 2018, Renaissance Legal became one of only a handful of practices in the South East region to be recognised as an “employer partner” by the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). First launched in 2016, the Employer Partnership Programme was designed to help employers deliver the best possible learning and professional development outcomes for staff and teams.
We are proud to announce that our Employer Partnership status has been renewed for another term following a rigorous re-accreditation process.
The re-assessment looked at any changes and developments in our learning and development initiatives, and how our team members are encouraged to develop themselves and their careers within the organisation.
The assessor commented on a number of key initiatives in place at Renaissance Legal, including Managing Director Philip Warford’s longstanding role as Chair for STEP Sussex, the extent to which our team are actively encouraged to support each other, to learn and to share knowledge and our structured appraisal process.
Since the firm’s first accreditation in 2018, there have been a number of significant strategic developments at the firm, many of which were commented upon by the STEP assessors. For example, it was noted that we have expanded our service offering with the launch of Renaissance Financial and that as well as recruiting new staff for that businesses the plan is also that the team will train in STEP as appropriate. Additionally, we continue to invest in the skills of our current team, with one member of staff currently studying the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation. Running alongside this, the firm is also supported by an external HR Consultant, a qualified counsellor, who helps to develop personal skills and also supports any staff who need it with wellbeing issues.
Philip Warford said:
“STEP continues to represent the hallmark of excellence in the private client industry and we’re delighted to be recognised for our efforts in team development. As a growing team, we must take care that our processes and commitment to L&D are maintained so that our clients can take confidence that they will receive the best quality advice and support. We actively ensure that our current staff and new joiners are continually supported and developed, so as to maintain the high standards of excellence for which we have become known..
The Employer Partnership Accreditation reflects our ongoing commitment and support of STEP, and we believe it cements our reputation as leaders in the field of provide client law – in the eyes of our clients, internal team and external colleagues”.
