Renaissance Legal and Mencap at awards

Renaissance Legal and Mencap have been ‘highly commended’ in the 2017 Business Charity Awards for its longstanding partnership.

The two organisations reached the finals in the Legal Partnership category which awards an outstanding partnership between a company in the legal sector and a UK charity. The Renaissance Legal and Mencap teams attended the award ceremony in London on the 25th March and were delighted to receive highly commended recognition by the award judges.

The event, now in its eighth year, welcomed more than 300 attendees from across the UK third-sector and the business organisations who partner with them. Hosted by journalist Declan Curry, the winners were announced by famous voiceover artist Alan Dedicoat.

Philip Warford, Managing Director, said: “it was inspirational to be amongst such amazing business and charity partnerships and we couldn’t be prouder to have received recognition from the judges in the Legal Partnership category alongside the wonderful team at Mencap.”

Jane Hallahan, Mencap, goes on to say “we were absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted and highly commended amongst such strong competition. Our relationship with Renaissance Legal has meant that together we have provided expert legal advice to more than 600 families in need since 2013. We are immensely proud of the relationship and service offering we provide alongside Renaissance Legal, so it’s wonderful to have the recognition this service deserves.”

The Renaissance Legal partnership is now entering its fifth year of working with the Mencap team to improve access to specialist legal advice for the thousands of families who have children with learning disabilities in the UK.
