St Giles’ School
On the 11 June Philip Warford is presenting to parents of St Giles’ School in South Croydon about Wills and Trusts for disabled and vulnerable children and young adults.
St Giles’ School is local school for children aged 4-16 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs, complex speech and language difficulties and associated learning difficulties.
Philip will be talking about providing for a disabled or vulnerable child if their family are no longer there to care for them. Many families will have Wills in place but where there is a vulnerable person involved, a Will has the potential to cause further difficulties. For example, leaving a cash sum to a disabled person, could impact any application for means tested benefits, now or in the future. Philip will talk to parents about how to ensure their vulnerable child is protected throughout their lifetime and how their entitlement to benefits can be safeguarded.
Philip will also explain how to choose Executors & Trustees, what a Letter of Wishes is, how it works, and how to make Gifts in a Will.
Philip will go on to talk about how Trusts work, the Trusts available to protect a disabled or vulnerable person including Life Interest Trusts, Discretionary Trusts and Disabled Person’s Trust.
This seminar is a private invite only event.
