Gina joined the Renaissance Legal team in January 2020 where she specialises in private client work, helping families prepare for the future with Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax Planning and Estate Administration. She also assists vulnerable clients making Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and helps clients in later life to prepare for the and provide for their family.
Gina qualified as a solicitor in 2016, having completed a number of years as a paralegal and obtained a first class (Hons) degree in law (LLB) from the University of Kent in 2008. She then went on to obtain a distinction in the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London in 2009.
Prior to joining Renaissance Legal, Gina spent time at a Hove-based firm where she undertook a range of legal work including landlord and tenant work, civil litigation, wills and estate administration, and contentious probate.
Her passion for private client work led her to Renaissance Legal and the opportunity to help families with a disabled or vulnerable loved one.
Aligning with Renaissance Legal’s own values Gina advises members at Carers Centre clinics and previously volunteered at the Brighton Unemployment Centre and Families Project. She also worked at the DWP Jobcentre Plus as an Enquiries Officer, advising and assisting people on a range of benefit and unemployment issues.
Gina is a member of STEP, holding the STEP Diploma which she completed in 2024. She also holds the STEP Advanced Certificates in Advising Vulnerable Clients, Trust Administration, Taxation of Trusts and Estates and Will Preparation.
If you were not a lawyer what job would you do?
Paramedic – seems exciting and would love to drive with lights and sirens.
If you were given a day off work where would we find you?
Ideally on a sunny beach, realistically entertaining the two kids, doing housework or walking the dog.
What can you do that no one else in the office can do?
Scuba dive.
If you could go back in history to a specific date or time, what would it be?
The 1960’s for the fashion and it was an exciting time for exploration & progress with moon landings and civil rights movement.
Where in the world would you most like to visit?
I would like to visit Lapland so the kids can meet Santa while they’re still young and I can see the northern lights and ride a husky sledge.
