Jane joined the Renaissance Legal team in 2021 in the role of Office Administrator, where she facilitates the smooth running of the office, working with all team members to ensure that they can excel in their own role in advising and supporting our clients. She was promoted to Office Manager in January 2023.
Jane’s move into legal services follows a long career with American Express which started with Travellers Cheques and then progresses to Manager in Global Payment Services where she led a Team responsible for Card Financial Controls, Compliance and Audits across multiple Global Markets.
If you were not an Office Administrator what job would you do?
I would love to have trained as a Cartographer, or nowadays more likely a Photogrammetrist. I can spend many happy hours lost in the details of a good map and travelling through the terrain in my mind.
What can you do that no one else in the office can do?
Until recent years, my husband and I celebrated every Wedding Anniversary by climbing a Munro. These are mountains in Scotland over 914.4 metres. It was our way of achieving something difficult together to mark another year. Most of the mountains we climbed were on the Isle of Skye. We would come back down exhausted and more than ready to continue celebrating with a glass or two of bubbly.
If you could go back in history to a specific date or time, what would it be?
I have a bit of a ‘never look back’ attitude. I would much rather go forward, perhaps to jump several generations and see my great, great, great grandchildren and the world they live in.
Where in the world would you most like to visit?
New Zealand.
If you were given a day off work where would we find you?
Walking through woods or across the Downs, preferably with a shaggy dog in tow (the 4-legged variety, not my husband)! If not, I can be found engrossed in my ‘ Me Room’ at home, surrounded by organised chaos with my various art in progress, books and research.
